You discover STERONORM, the food supplement with pine plant sterols, soluble fibers and caigua: a concrete help in reducing cholesterol

High cholesterol: an increasingly widespread problem

Today, hypercholesterolemia is one of the main health challenges. In Italy, 38% of the adult population have high cholesterol levels, compared to 24% twenty years ago (source: ISS-ANMCO). This scenario reflects changes in lifestyle: a richer diet, stress, and little physical activity.

Cholesterol is considered high above 240 mg/dL, but values between 200 and 239 mg/dL should also be monitored, especially if associated with high levels of LDL ("bad") and low levels of HDL ("good"). The risk increases if associated with other factors (overweight, hypertension, etc.) and a series of other blood parameters that investigate cardiovascular risk linked to free radical stress and chronic inflammation.

Without intervention, the risk of cardiovascular complications increases significantly if one does not change one's lifestyle and intervene with appropriate supplementation or pharmacological solutions, which are many and varied.

    Why is high cholesterol dangerous?

Hypercholesterolemia does not give immediate symptoms, but over time it can lead to heart attack, stroke and peripheral vascular diseaseThis is because LDL tends to deposit in the arteries, forming plaques that narrow their diameter.

Not surprisingly, the cardiovascular diseases They are the leading cause of death in the world and hypercholesterolemia is one of the most important modifiable factors.

Diet and lifestyle: how much do they really matter?

The first response to high cholesterol remains a proper nutritionEliminating trans fats, reducing ultraprocessed foods, and increasing fiber and phytonutrients can lower LDL cholesterol. 5–10%However, this is often not enough, especially when the genetic predisposition is strong. In such cases, it may be useful to supplement with targeted food supplements, such as STERONORM.

Plant sterols: what they are and how they work

Plant sterols are plant compounds naturally present in nuts, seeds, grains, and vegetables. Their chemical structure is very similar to that of human cholesterol, and precisely because of this similarity, they can "trick" our bodies.

In the intestinal tract, plant sterols compete with cholesterol for absorption. They enter micelles, small structures necessary for fat absorption, thus reducing the absorption of "true" cholesterol. The result is increased fat elimination in the feces and reduced entry into the bloodstream, as well as stimulating the liver to utilize the cholesterol already present in the blood.

The effect is well documented: with 1.5–3 g of plant sterols per day, a reduction in LDL cholesterol of 7–10% is achieved within a few weeks.

Plant sterols from pine: an excellent source

Not all plant sterols are created equal.

Those derived from pine, as in STERONORM, come from an extremely controlled raw material (tall oil, a by-product of wood pulp processing), not genetically modified and free of pesticides.

The β-sitosterol, campesterol, and stigmasterol contained act synergistically to lower cholesterol and have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and soothing effects, which enrich the product's healthy effect.

Soluble fiber and synergy with plant sterols

STERONORM does not base its action only on plant sterols, but also contains soluble fibres: partially hydrolysed guar gum and FOS (fructooligosaccharides).

These fibers act as intestinal "scavengers" (slowing fat absorption), increasing intestinal viscosity, and binding to bile salts, promoting their excretion. To compensate for this loss, the liver uses more cholesterol to produce new bile salts.

Furthermore, FOS and guar produce short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which inhibit hepatic cholesterol synthesis. The result is a dual effect: less cholesterol absorbed and less internally produced.

Taking plant sterols together with fiber enhances the cholesterol-lowering effect, improves bioavailability and amplifies the benefits.

Caigua: the plant of Andean tradition

STERONORM contains the dry extract of Caigua (Cyclanthera pedata), a plant native to South America, which acts on cholesterol metabolism, blood pressure regulation and digestive function.

Recent studies confirm its anti-lipid properties, supporting the action of phytosterols and fibers and offering an effective natural contribution.

STERONORM: a complete and synergistic product

STERONORM It is an innovative, safe supplement free of red yeast rice monacolins, which are poorly tolerated by many individuals. Each stick provides:

2.5 g of plant sterols from pine
2.5 g of soluble fiber (Guar + FOS)
    0.1 g of Caigua extract
Vitamin B1, contributes to normal cardiac function and therefore to heart health

The convenient single-use stick should be taken dissolved in 150–200 ml of water, preferably after the main meal.

The strength of STERONORM is in the synergy of assetsPlant sterols to reduce cholesterol absorption, Fibers to enhance cholesterol elimination and regulate liver metabolism, Caigua to strengthen the lipid effect and vascular health.
